History

Previously operating under Kaltim Express Pte Ltd, Spedco Kaltim Pte Ltd started operations in 1980 as a freight forwarder specializing in freight services from Singapore to Balikpapan, supporting the oil and gas industries in East Kalimantan. Ever since, Spedco Kaltim has broadened its product offerings and the geographical regions served.

Spedco Kaltim maintains its lead role as one of the most efficient logistics solutions provider for the Singapore to Indonesia route. Over the years, Spedco Kaltim has broadened its scope to include delivery to ports of Indonesia such as Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Jakarta, Medan and Surabaya.

Spedco Kaltim started out as a forwarding contractor to support the oil and gas industries in East Kalimantan. Today, in addition to the marine, oil and gas industries , Spedco Kaltim plays a critical role in supporting the Indonesian coal mining industry which produced over 340 million metric tons (mt) of coal in 2011.
